Tick off each condition below. You'll usually need to meet all of them to qualify.
Give your employer written notice at least 15 weeks before your baby's due date.
Use GOV.UK form SC3 (or your employer's internal paternity claim form) to formally request Statutory Paternity Pay.
Payments are distributed by your employer through standard salary payroll across 1 or 2 consecutive weeks.
While receiving Statutory Paternity Pay, families on modest incomes can check for Universal Credit top-ups and local council early years family support grants.
