Step-by-Step: How to Apply

    Notify your employer in writing of your sickness within their deadline (or within 7 days if no deadline is set).

    Provide a 'fit note' from your GP, nurse, or hospital doctor if off sick for more than 7 days in a row.

  3. 3

    SSP is paid directly into your wage packet through normal payroll on your usual payday.
