Bristol City Council uses the Crisis and Resilience Fund to provide a safety net for people on low incomes experiencing unexpected financial problems while also supporting longer-term financial stability. Published support and delivery includes free school meal vouchers, support for care leavers and foster households, food support, heating support, Crisis Payments, Housing Payments, money and debt help and benefits advice.

Who may qualify?

Crisis Payment eligibility published by Bristol includes being aged 16 or older, resident in Bristol, experiencing financial crisis and needing help with essential day-to-day living expenses. Housing Payment support is available where a person receives Housing Benefit or the Housing Element of Universal Credit and needs additional help with housing costs.

Resident in Bristol and aged 16 or older (Crisis Payments).

Benefit requirement

Housing Payments require receipt of Housing Benefit or the Housing Element of Universal Credit. No benefit condition is published for Crisis Payments.
