Open — Oldham Council publishes resident-facing information on Crisis Payments, Housing Payments and wider advice support.
Last verified: 12 August 2026
Oldham Council delivers the Crisis and Resilience Fund through Crisis Payments for residents facing sudden money problems who cannot meet basic needs (published examples include fire, flood, leaving domestic abuse and sudden illness), covering supermarket vouchers for food, energy costs and essential household items. The council also provides Housing Payments for residents struggling with rent or at risk of homelessness, holiday hunger supermarket vouchers for eligible children receiving free school meals, rent deposits and tenancy bonds for residents working with Housing Options, and wider debt, benefits, housing, energy-bill and financial wellbeing advice through the Oldham Advice Service.
Crisis Payments are for residents experiencing sudden money problems who cannot meet basic needs. Housing Payments may be available where the resident receives Housing Benefit or Universal Credit and cannot meet the full cost of rent. Holiday hunger vouchers are provided automatically for eligible children receiving free school meals rather than through a CRF application.
