Sefton's Crisis Payment scheme is open for applications and supports low-income households experiencing financial shock. Published examples include sudden loss or reduction of income, an unexpected essential bill or cost, benefit delay or change, illness, caring responsibilities, family emergency, and urgent housing issues increasing financial pressure. Wider resilience work includes benefits and income checks, budgeting, debt advice, employment and training support, and wellbeing support. Immediate food, gas and electricity support may also be available through the council's Emergency Limited Assistance Scheme.
