Rotherham Council says the Crisis and Resilience Fund combines previous Household Support Fund and Discretionary Housing Payments funding and helps low-income households experiencing a financial shock, giving examples including an accident or health emergency, a kitchen appliance breaking down or an inability to pay fuel bills. The council also publishes a £95 one-off payment before the 2026 summer holiday for eligible families receiving free school meals, paid through schools without an application, and an automatic Local Council Tax Support top-up.
