Sheffield's Crisis and Resilience Fund Crisis Payment is a non-repayable grant for low-income households that cannot afford essential costs following a financial crisis. Published support covers food, essential housekeeping items, gas and electricity, water, telephone costs, mobile top-ups, broadband charges, basic toiletries, essential travel, winter clothing and school uniform costs. The council says Crisis Payments cannot be awarded for debt payments, mortgage costs, rent or housing arrears, or white goods; housing costs are handled separately through Crisis and Resilience Fund Housing Payments.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, live in Sheffield, be unable to afford one or more qualifying essentials, and must not have made another application within the previous 6 months, including under the previous Household Support Fund.
