Lewisham Council says the Crisis and Resilience Fund replaced the Household Support Fund on 1 April 2026 and will provide emergency financial support to residents on a low income facing a sudden, unexpected crisis, with every application coming with an offer of longer-term support such as debt advice, benefit checks and budgeting help. The council says it is developing its Crisis Payments application scheme and directs residents needing help with housing costs to its Housing Payments page.
